Secure Exchange Solutions (SES) is attending the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference in Las Vegas, March 5-9, 2018. As the largest health IT conference of the year, we’re looking forward to sharing advancements in our messaging platform that promise to revolutionize the prior authorization process.
We’ll be in the Marco Polo Ballroom Living Room (LR2) to introduce the latest in automated prior authorization, using blockchain smart contract technology to expedite, what remains an arduous, time-consuming and costly process for providers and payers. Our new platform enables the secure exchange of prior authorization requests combined with authenticated electronic signature capabilities to streamline communications for payers and providers.
The platform utilizes distributed ledger technology (DLT). Two of the key benefits of DLT are feeling secure in the accuracy of the activity and having a method to pay for those verifying the messages. Both of these are key to successful implementations of the new messages. What is exciting about Blockchain’s distributed structure is that it has the potential to change a lot of things. But there’s still a lot of things that need to be built out and problems to solve. More to come!
Also, we’ll be sharing the progress of our cross-specialty Innovation Messaging Taskforce, formed last year, with a charter to develop standardized, structured messaging formats for prior authorization, claim attachments, HEDIS reporting and more. The work done to date, has moved us closer to a format that combines multiple existing standards into a highly scalable workflow. We’ll have details to present during the meeting.
By taking a leadership role, SES is demonstrating not only our commitment, but our focus on enabling the timely and secure exchange of health information, given it is increasingly important for clinicians as they work to meet the Meaningful Use Stage 3 and MACRA mandates.
We hope you’ll join us at HIMSS 2018!
